Accessibility compliance

This statement was drafted in compliance with Italian Legislative Decree No. 82/2022, which adopts Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act). The intrend.it website respects the principles of perceivability, operability, understandability and robustness, as well as the accessibility requirements, established by that regulation. The specific technical measures adopted make reference to the EN 301 549 standard and are based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 with A and AA compliance levels.

Website accessibility

In order to favour the accessible use of the intrend.it website, in compliance with the regulations and standards specified above in the “Accessibility compliance” section, the following solutions have been adopted:

  • Possibility of navigating on the entire website using only the keyboard

  • Focus indicators always visible during navigation

  • All textual elements correctly readable by screen readers

  • Possibility for the user, to a significant extent, to individually adjust the text size

  • Adequate colour contrast for the most part

  • Most product images accompanied by significant textual descriptions

  • Content, for the most part, lacking rapid image sequences that could cause visual problems

  • Use, to a good extent, of descriptive titles for the pages

  • Clear and consistent navigation structures

  • Clear error and suggestion messages for the most part to facilitate the correction of input

  • Use of appropriate sematic HTML structures and ARIA roles

Furthermore, dedicated functions are continuously updated to guarantee an increasingly improved experience for all users.

Non-accessible content

The intrend.it website is partially compliant with the UNI CEI EN 301549 harmonised standards. With particular reference to the requirements listed in Annex A of UNI CEI EN 301549, the following content is not yet accessible:

  • Non-textual content: some images do not have an alternative descriptive text; decorative non-textual elements receive the focus without providing information; some significant non-textual content is hidden to screen readers

  • Information and correlations: some components have semantic and programmatic association problems: lists not always implemented correctly, labels or error messages not associated with the respective fields and redundant notices

  • Use of colour: on some pages, compulsory fields are indicated only with the use of colour

  • Textual content contrast: in some sections of the purchasing process, some text has an insufficient colour contrast with respect to the background

  • Resize text: on the product page, the navigation breadcrumb is not fully accessible when the page is viewed with a 200% zoom

  • Text spacing: in some cases, the application of text spacing settings causes overlapping between text and other visual elements

  • Adaptation of layout: the navigation menu cannot be properly used when the page is viewed with a 400% zoom

  • Pointer movements: the zoom function for some images is not accessible through just one pointer

  • Order of focus: on some pages the focus is lost after interaction with certain elements

  • Scope of links: for some pages, links with repeated texts are announced without providing a clear context for users of screen readers

  • Identification of errors: for some pages, compulsory fields left empty do not have accessible error messages

  • Instructions and labels: in some cases, compulsory fields are not clearly indicated, either visually or programmatically

  • Name, role and status of interactive elements: on some pages, various interactive elements have missing or incomplete labels; some required fields are not announced, selection statuses are not communicated by screen readers and some buttons do not have accessible names

  • Status messages: in some cases, error messages or information is not properly announced

Diffusione Tessile s.r.l. has initiated a structured continuous improvement programme aimed at gradually resolving the issues identified, focusing particularly on new content and on the most frequently visited sections of the website.

The programme involves scheduled accessibility reviews as well as an in-house training course, which has already been launched, aimed at designers, developers and all the departments involved in website management and development, with the goal of promoting a fully accessible approach.
